Little Black Book Privacy Policy

Little Black Book is a private book of lovers and nights for your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Your book is yours: it lives on your devices, and Aeon has no servers for it, no accounts and no way to read it.

What we collect

Nothing. Aeon does not collect, receive or store any information about you, your book or how you use the app. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Where your book lives

Lovers, nights, ratings, notes, tags, places, photos, videos and the health test records you add are stored on your device with the strongest file protection iOS offers, unreadable while your device is locked. The book can be kept behind Face ID. Photos and videos you take or add go into the book, never into your photo library.

iCloud sync

Sync is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, your book syncs through your own private iCloud database so your other Apple devices can open it. Text is kept in iCloud's end-to-end encrypted fields. Photos and videos are encrypted on your device before they leave it, with a key kept in your iCloud Keychain, which is also end-to-end encrypted. Aeon cannot read any of it.

Backups

A backup is a file you export yourself. It is encrypted with a password you choose. Aeon never receives the file or the password and cannot recover either for you.

Apple Health

Apple Health is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, each night is written to Apple Health as sexual activity, with whether protection was used. Names, ratings and notes are never written. The app reads back only the entries it wrote, so it can update or remove them. Health data is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.

Apple Watch

Nights you log on your Apple Watch go straight to the book on your iPhone, over the connection between your own devices.

Camera, microphone and location

These are used only when you use them. The microphone records sound for videos you take. Your location is read once, when you ask the app to place a pin where you are, and it stays in your book.

Face ID

Face ID is handled by iOS. The app learns only whether it succeeded and never sees your face data.

Copying

Names and numbers you copy can be pasted on your other Apple devices through Universal Clipboard. You can turn this off in the app so copies stay on the device.

Adults only

Little Black Book is for people 18 and over, and everyone written in it must be 18 or over. It is not directed at children.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes the book from that device. If iCloud sync is on, you can remove the synced copy in Settings, under your Apple Account, iCloud, Manage Storage.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
